The clean version
Banker Rules
- 1
Choose the opening Banker and a minimum stake.
- 2
Before tee shots, the Banker declares the maximum action accepted for that hole.
- 3
Each challenger sets an individual amount within the allowed range.
- 4
Compare each challenger's gross or net score directly with the Banker.
- 5
Pass the bank using the agreed rotation or outright-beat rule.
Before the first tee
Set Up the Game
- Choose the first Banker
- Set minimum and maximum bets
- Choose gross or net
- Define ties, presses and how the bank passes
Worked example
How the Scoring Works
The Banker offers up to $5. Two opponents take $5 and one takes $2. If the Banker beats the first 2 but loses to the third, those 3 bilateral bets settle separately.
Mix it carefully
Can Banker Be Played With Other Games?
Banker already contains multiple bilateral bets; keep any overlays small and non-multiplying.
House-rule territory
Popular Variations
- Bank passes to an outright winner
- Fixed rotation
- Par 3s worth 3 times the base
- Challenger and Banker presses
Play smarter
Strategy Without the Spreadsheet
- The Banker should size the maximum before seeing every opponent's outcome.
- Challengers can choose smaller action on unfavorable holes.
- Track every bilateral amount separately rather than only the Banker's net total.
Quick answers
Banker FAQ

One separate match against each challenger, so a foursome creates 3 simultaneous Banker bets.

Common methods use a fixed rotation or pass the bank to a golfer who beats the current Banker outright.
Can Banker use different bet sizes?
Yes. Many versions let each challenger choose an amount up to the Banker's stated maximum.
